Sometimes the simplest things work the best. This direct mail piece from the Austin Business Journal was a simple business size envelope with “Do Not Bend” stamped in red on it. It looked important enough to be worth opening in my opinion.

Tricky Direct Mail Marketers
Ok, so here’s another example of a tricky direct mail piece. Standard envelope with a real stamp and address that is hand-written. That got me to open the piece. Contents were what at first appeared to be a real newspaper clipping (with torn edge) and a hand-written post-it note. Nice job.
